About us
Sigma Gestión Universitaria is a consortium of eight public Spanish universities bringing together the needs of data management and administrative procedures and turning them into a set of modules that provide solutions to emerging and changing problems in the university environment.

About the market
Our suite VEGA is used by 8 public universities, 2 private institutions and some language schools related to these universities.

- Institut Químic de Sarrià (One of the institutions forming part of the Universitat Ramon Llull)
- Escuela Universitaria de Magisterio Sagrado Corazón (Depending on the Universidad de Córdoba)
These universities have over 170 000 students in official studies.
About the System
VEGA is a set of integral solutions for the management of university education. It is composed of these modules:
SIGMA - Academic Management of University Official Studies:
SIGMA is the integrated management solution for university institutions offering official bachelor, master and doctorate university studies as well as degree and postgraduate levels. Basically it has the following functions:
- General data
- Access to University
- Curriculum
- Academic Validation
- Enrollment and Registration
- Fees
- Grant Management
- Grading and Transcript
- Professor Campus
- Certificate Issuing
- Mobility (fully integrated in VEGA)
- Degree
- Statistics
All this functions adapted to the Bologna Process and some of them available on-line: enrollment and registration, transcript consult, degree request, etc.
ATLAS - Academic Planning Management:
ATLAS is the integrated management solution for university institutions to plan their teaching activities, harmonizing the relation between the teaching offer and the teaching demand. Their main functions are:
- Teaching Offer Definition for Official Approval
- Teaching Planning
- Resources and Reservation Management
- Teaching Staff Calculation
- Staff Variations and Budget Management
ORION - Lifelong Learning:
ORION is the integrated management solution for lifelong learning at university institutions, language centres and
business schools. Basically it has the same functions than SIGMA but adapted to the looser characteristics of this kind of studies:

ARGOS - Research Management:
ARGOS is the integrated solution for research management university institutions. Its main functions are:
- Research Assistance: Scientific Production Register, Normalized Curriculum Issuing, etc.
- Research Activity and Publication
- Projects, Agreements and Aid Management
- Evaluation
PERSEO - Personnel Training and Development:
PERSEO is the integrated management solution for personnel training at university institutions and public administrations in general. Basically it consists of:
- Analysis of needs
- Planning and Programming
- Executions
- Evaluation and Results
All our solutions are organised into a 3-tier client-application-data architecture:
- Developed on SUN ONE platform on SUN SOLARIS, although its development on the basis of the J2EE standard means it can also run on platforms produced by other manufacturers.
- Access, using the JDBC standard, to databases ORACLE and INGRES by the moment.
- The client side only requires a browser and network connection.
- Directives of implementation according to standards: UML, OOP, Java, XML, JSP, servlet, EJB...
