Background
In the January Athens meeting of CEN/ISSS WS-LT the following resolution was passed:
Action 3: Erlend Overby will organise a follow-up seminar on metadata strategy related issues to be held at the forthcoming meeting of WS-LT (..) in Berlin.
Call for projects: The deadline for project proposals - EU Commission's ICT Call, which usually funds WS activities - is 15th May. Download the draft of the Call (PDF)!
Motiviation: The ICOPER project just delivered a report on the ICOPER with friends symposium in Berlin December 2008. This could be important input to requirement gathering, and more should follow.

Please provide input to the scope and term of reference
The Goal of the SIG should be to gather European requirements, and provide this to international standardisation activities.
If there are identified GAP's between our requirements and ongoing standardisation activities new projects could be established.
