Issues to consider for "User need summary"

In my view we need a more holistic approach to accessibility. We need to look beyond the physical impariments.

How to collaborate
  • Add items that are missing
  • Strike out strike out issues you find irrelevant

Possible issues:

  • Elderly people
  • Mental challenges
    • Cognitive challenges
    • Psychiatric disorders
  • ICT anxiety
  • Device hopping
    • Smart phones
    • Web
    • Pads

Possible user needs?

  • Predictable environments
  • Consistent user interaction
  • Change of accessibility features based on context (time, location, duration etc.)
  • Adaption of user experience based on context

Erland,

I'm not able to edit the page so here are my comments:

I think examining the needs of elderly people is good. We have always believed that many of the things we do for people with disabilities would also benefit elderly people. So I hope we would find that we already have the user needs in the summary.

With regard to mental challenges, we already have needs for "People with cognitive, language, & learning disabilities" in the summary. Do you have specific issues with what is there now or think that there are omissions?

I don't think we should address "ICT Anxiety" or "Device hopping" as these are not within our charter.

Looking at the possible user needs you have there, first we have to define the problems, then come up with the needs that match the problems.
