Conclusions from a great evening at the Guinness Storehouse

What you told us:

COMMUNITY We acknowledge that we are all part of the EUNIS community and we want to build ANIMATE that community.
COMMUNICATE We would like to communicate with each other in enhanced ways through for example, EUNIS mailing lists and access to a EUNIS database.
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS (SIGs)SIGs such as the ELTF and RS3G may be the optimum way for us to share our expertise and interests
CO-OPTED SIG membersTo facilitate futher activity we suggest that a member of each SIGs is co-opted to the EUNIS Board.
COMPANIES Commercial companies are keen to speak to, and become involved with, the EUNIS community  in order to understand the wider European market.  What's the best way to make that happen?   How can we help them to help us?

What:

informal social get-together with Ignite style presentation, a fun, fast-paced event where participants share ideas

  • NO Beer - GUINNESS only !
  • some Food
  • Ignite style presentation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignite_(event) to present marketing suggestion to EUNIS.  The main outcomes will be presented to the EUNIS general Council .
  • Poster presentation from the "sponsors" of the event (min 2 - max 10).  Please contact Simone Ravaioli if you would like to co-sponsor this event.

Aim:

how to ignite EUNIS and all the collaboration activities:

  1. How members can act as an active community... even outside the yearly Conference (collaboration activities like EUNIS Task Forces, RS3G, IT architecture, project engagement, workshops, ..)
  2. How the community can support EUNIS (ideas, activities, funding, local workshops, ..)
  3. How EUNIS can better serve its community (promotion of collaboration among members, ..)

This event will help EUNIS to gather new ideas from the community.  Additionally it will provide a welcoming environment for people who are new to the EUNIS conference (the night before a conference begins is often a bit lonely, especially for newcomers) and provide an opportunity for any early arrivals to Dublin who wish to meet with their peers before the conference proper begins.

When:

Tuesday, June 14th from 19:30

Who:

the event is open to all EUNIS members and participants .

Presentations:

This is a fundamental part of the event... it's a social event with a twist.  The climate will be relaxed and the view breath-taking view - this should stimulate your contribution and remove any traditional presentation anxiety.  Have yourself a pint of Guinness (or two) before you present - that should help  ;-)

To further help, please think about this - "EUNIS & Me":

  • What has EUNIS been for me ?
  • What do I want from EUNIS ?

Format: Ignite presentation formula means 10 minutes per person, 10 slides, 1 slide per minute...  if you don't need slides

Presentations’ topics must be relevant to the event theme - IGNITE Eunis!

Speakers   - add yours!... it's a wiki;-)
